The second public cemetery in the city of Porto, in the western part of the city. This cemetery has several monuments of great value spread throughout its length.
In the municipal sections, several characters from the Porto arts are buried, such as the painter António Carneiro, the cellist Guillermina Suggia, the photographer Emílio Biel or Tomás Soller.
The cemeteries of Porto are the only ones in Portugal that belong to the Association of Significant Cemeteries in Europe (Association of Significant Cemeteries in Europe), and are founding members of the European Route of Cemeteries.
Rich in Romantic art, it keeps the tombs of cellist Guilhermina Suggia, by Júlio Dinis, for example.
In turn, in the Prado do Repouso there is the deposit of the poet Eugénio de Andrade, designed by Siza Vieira and the doctor and painter Abel Salazar.

The place is quiet in the middle of a busy city. It is to respect people who visit their loved ones who have passed away.

In this cemetery you will see a lot of art and if you notice you will see that it has a lot of nature. It is only to ask tourists to respect people and not make too much noise in this place.
To reach this cemetery you have several public transports that leave you almost at the door.
