The archipelago of the Azores is one of the most privileged places in the world to see various species of cetaceans, including whales and dolphins.

This tour, was accompanied by marine biologists, and lasted approximately three hours and is preceded by a briefing that gives some explanations about the species that can be seen and about the safety measures.

Everyone had to wear a life jacket.

It's very rare that there is no sighting. In our case, we saw some dolphins and a blue whale.

In addition to resident communities such as common dolphins and bottlenose dolphins, with whom it is possible to swim, there are whales that use the Azores as a migration route.

Painted dolphins, sperm whales, sardinheira and bearded whales are more frequent in the summer. The blue whale can be easily spotted in late winter.

The departure to the sea is properly prepared on land by the skipper, through an explanation to the visitors about the various species that they may see, the way the trip will take place and the care and precautions that must be taken to not interfere with the marine life.

On this trip it's very important to bring a windbreaker, hat, sunscreen and water.
