Right now I'm watching an ultra-running youtube documentary in the background while typing up this post. I'm not good at journalling, but I feel I need it. Yeah, my mind works in strange ways and right now I need to declutter my brain a bit but also feel productive. Hopefully, this kind of online journalling post will help me do this.
First of all, I like to look back at all the food I stuck in my mouth today and reflect on what I could have done better to be more healthy or just see after a while what kind of food I eat too much and what type of food I don't eat enough.
Breakfast: banana, passion fruit, 2 glasses of water, 2 glasses of black tea
Now breakfast is the most difficult meal for me, in the morning after waking up I almost always don't feel like eating but I know that it is important and I have to. Therefore I start by drinking a glass of water as fast as possible while making a glass of tea that I will drink afterward together with some fruit. That is the usual thing I do for breakfast. Normally it is just a banana and a mandarine but today it was a banana and a passion fruit because we have a lot of them at home. but I feel really thirsty and drank another glass of water and a glass of tea not long after eating the fruit. After I felt that I drank a bit too much too fast. but it was good to have a lot of fluid in the body as it was a pretty hot night and probably lost a lot while sleeping. Reflection: drink enough but slower; eat more and not only fruit.
Lunch: pasta pesto (with dried tomato, arugula, smoked ham) + coffee
lunch is always nice, and look forward to it every day. today I ate leftovers from yesterday's dinner pasta pesto which was great and feel like this was a pretty good lunch maybe I ate a bit too much. Coffee was something I felt like I needed and was nice to have a warm drink with this meal. Reflection: a good meal, a bit too much.
Dinner: fried cod, Duchesse potatoes, salad (yellow bell pepper, lettuce, white onion, tomato, cucumber)
Dinner, mostly the biggest meal of the day is where I try to get a lot of variation. Today was a very nice and delicious meal. Maybe it was not really healthy because the fish was fried but for the remainder pretty good. Reflection: I eat too many potatoes, an alternative for fried fish, better something grilled, more variation in the salad, and also get some herbs in there. Drinking a glass of water after dinner would be ideal.
Snacks: a handful of chips(crisps), mascarpone dessert with red fruit and biscuit, marzipan biscuit, 2 mandarines, a small bit of unripe pear, coffee, a glass of tea, few glasses of water
I feel a bit hungry during the day I try to fill this feeling with a glass of water or a piece of fruit or some nuts. Today I drank a few glasses of water and ate 2 mandarines but also had some more unhealthy snacks. There was a mascarpone dessert that was leftover from 2 days ago that I ate and another marzipan biscuit that is too delicious to not eat if I see it. Saw someone eat some crisps so felt like eating a handful of them too. reflection: eat more nuts and fruit as an alternative, more water, less dessert stuff
That's it for the food. Not many activities today but squeezed in some physical exercise. I did a few sit-ups after a short 3km run in the morning. In the evening I went for a walk combined with some roller skating for 30 minutes total. Better than nothing but I have to increase the mileage during my runs, I just didn't feel good running today don't know why.
Watched a movie called 'best sellers', not bad but a had some boring parts too. Like almost everything where Aubrey Plaza features. besides the YT documentary ('big chill' - Gary robbins) that I'm watching right now in the background, I also watched another similar documentary called 'Transamericana'. I like these types of documentaries because they give me motivation and just bring a good story. A lot of these ultra-running people have also very interesting looks at life and bring some philosophical views to this watching time. A lot of watching today. Also, still trying to go through my playlist on YT to watch later videos that were over 250 videos a few weeks ago and are now almost down to 100, not only because I watched them but also sorted a bit and decided to not watch a lot of these videos.
Also listened to Spotify during random tasks during the day. some classical music more early in the day and switched to random more modern playlists and San Holo later in the day. I liked the classical music in the morning, normally I don't listen much to this type of music but something I have to do more.
It just started raining an hour ago after more than a week of warm weather without rain so making this a nice evening. opened the window of the bedroom fully to let the fresh colder air inside. The rain relaxes me and feels like there is a lot more oxygen in the air and smells nice. A good way to end this day.
Tomorrow, I will meet some friends but try to be a bit productive at the beginning of the day.
