While the Cardano Shelley code has been successfully updated on the main network, the third phase of development should be put online on the testnet in Q3 2020. Goguen is not a major development like Shelley but it will introduce Marlowe and Plutus, the programming languages of IOHK. This will allow more people to create smart contracts and decentralized applications on the network. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said yesterday that he would leave social media until July 29, when the hard fork combiner goes live. He said his main focus at the moment was the third phase of development for Cardano , Goguen.
Charles Hoskinson Pauses After Successful Implementation of the Shelley Code
Charles Hoskinson went to Twitter yesterday and posted;
"All right kids, this week has been full of action and exhausting, but we have made incredible progress. I'm taking a break from social media and AMA until the hard fork of 29 to focus on Goguen and the next parts of the roadmap. See you soon. pic.twitter.com/ECiDVD2QVq ”
With the successful implementation of Goguen, the Cardano blockchain will be primed for enterprise applications. IOHK product manager Nebojsa Vojvodic said this third phase of development will lay the groundwork for a more robust decentralized network for the blockchain. Goguen will allow people who do n't have too much experience with blockchain technology to create decentralized applications and smart contracts on the blockchain without stress.
