UniLend Partners with Ramp DeFi to Improve the DeFi Terrain

By Olufemi Stephen | Crypto Base | 8 Mar 2021

UniLend is one of the giants in the DeFi world, and this can be seen in the partnerships it enters into, and the innovations that it creates regularly. One of those partnerships was with Ramp DeFi. UniLend will list the rUSD stablecoin operated by Ramp DeFi on its platform. It will be used in the different functionalities like borrowing, lending and decentralized trading offered on UniLend. Listing this rUSD stablecoin will leave UniLend leveraging this partnership by having access to the liquidity that the inclusion of the rUSD pools will cause.

Once upon a time, people feel that having one's cake and eating it was impossible, but Ramp DeFi seems to be changing the meaning of that popular saying. It creates better liquidity for the DeFi world. Prior to the coming of the likes of Ramp DeFi, when token holders stake their tokens, they are unable to have access to the tokens and the liquidity that they offer for that period.

This has changed, as Ramp DeFi allows stakers to easily have access to liquidity from the digital assets that they have staked. What this means is that stakers can earn income from both staking and other means. Is this not incredible? There are a lot of features and perks that are available with the coming of Ramp DeFi’s rUSD stablecoin to UniLend.

Holders of tokens can effortlessly stake to improve the security of the system, and earn rewards from this process. Apart from that, they can easily lend out a derivative of their tokens out at the same time.

This will drive massive adoption because potential users will see the incredible streams of income that one could get and how they could benefit from improved capital efficiency. The collaboration between Ramp DeFi and UniLend is a welcome development.

Improved Capital Efficiency

We will analyze why this partnership is a great one that will benefit numerous users. Usually, when a person stakes their token, they have to do that for a particular period, if they are to earn staking rewards. Many platforms did not allow stakers to have access to their staked digital asset for that period, and they were not allow to cancel the staking process too. Others tried to deter stakers from cancelling the staking process by inflicting them with a fine or not paying them any reward at all.

Usually, the staker's capital is stuck in the validator staking program to ensure that the Proof of stake infrastructure is safe. This was the goal.

Now, with the partnership between Ramp DeFi and UniLend, this is altered.

Ramp permits users to deposit their digital assets in their smart contracts. The assets are then redeployed into the staking process or yield farming process.

Immediately this is done, the user can effortlessly mint rUSD stablecoins on Ethereum using the assets that they had redeployed as collateral.

The minted rUSD can then be used in decentralized platforms such as UniLend to earn benefits.
