Wow! It's fun again to play Splinterlands on a daily basis! 😃
The thing that demoralized me in the second half of the season was that 80% of my fights were against much higher level decks and it just wasn't fun anymore to grind my daily battles, starting most of my fights with a clear disadvantage started to feel like a waste of team instead of a fun way to spend my time and grow my account, I knew some day a new system would be launched but not when, so I fired up my bot and passed it to Wild League and started to do different things with my time, only doing brawls.
This was the first time in over four years I stopped playing Splinterlands, even my wife asked what was wrong and why I wasn't on the PC so much anymore - asking why I didn't sell my assets in the game... HELL NO... some day it'll be better again, hopefully. 🙂
That day didn't took very long and with refreshed energy I returned to playing daily, at first it was REALLY easy because all players had to start at the bottom in this new system but in the second half of the season, passing the 3000 rating points things got interesting with skillful players and strong liquidity bots.
You can now clearly see which accounts are the bots but they are dialed in much, much better and every bot is different, I kept running in to certain bots that kept kicking my ass while others were easier to beat but the most important thing was, the fights were on even levels so at least I had a chance of winning. I don't have all the OP teams and when I was grinding my battles and I met my Splinterlands friend Beaker in a battle we started chatting on Discord and we came to the same conclusion: Nidhogr and Mancer teams were wrecking us. 😅
With less than 24 hours left, I was able to push to division 2 because of a opponent surrender.
The 15k Glint reward was really nice but right after entering division 2, I was kicked out hard by... you can guess it, Nidhogr and a full gold foil scholar account, but I was even able to win against a Mancer team.
Beaker was out of energy and I still had some left but after a couple of more battles I was once again over 3500 rating, 3540 to be precise and I was at position 21 on the leaderboard which felt like a good moment to stop playing and hope to stay in the top 25 to earn some more Glint!
This morning, about 12 hours later... to my surprise I am still at position 21, this is looking good!
8 more hours to end of season, and the U.S is asleep so hopefully not much will change in the final hours, so... what to do with my early morning PC time besides building a nice cycling route for my training later today?
Frontier it is! My deck is still not fully maxed so I'm grinding for reward chests, and then, on my second reward for the day after 5 wins... there was something else next to the two chests!
It was Buns the Unseen, a card I didn't own yet so that's really nice! 😃
The Glint rewards for the new modern system are crazy, I don't have enough SPS staked for the higher divisions - not nearly enough because my boost is only at 6.7x at this rating, we will see at the end of season how much SPS we earn because all players share a reward pool for this bracket based on how much reward points we earned, in the old system I would play around 300 battles with a win rate just under 50% and a average SPS reward of 4 SPS probably, so that's 600 SPS for the season. Let's see what the reward will be later today!
