Hi fellow Splinterlands fans! Good to have you back on my blog, this is my second post for this week about the Splinterlands Challenges we can participate in to get those juicy upvotes and earn some $, with it I fund my deck to grow bigger.
Did you read my first post?
By participating in these challenges yourself, you can earn something extra and with some practice, it will get more by time, just keep on grinding! To find out how you can participate in the challenges yourself, read the Splinterlands post here.
So with land 1.5 launch getting closer, I figured it's a good moment to get some extra SPS, so when I started my day this morning, I deposited my blogging earnings from the last week into Hive Engine and swapped hive for sps, I would get just over 2k more SPS, not bad! I never used swap before but I did see Magic the Gathering talk about it in his video's so I just tried it out...
That's a bummer... I don't why this happened, so now my funds are locked somewhere and I had to submit a ticket to get a refund, that will take some days probably, too bad!
Well.. enough small talk, time to get some more coffee and carry on to the main topic for today, another Battle Mage Secrets post!
The ruleset for this week is Unprotected in which all armor gets removed, so summoners who give (void) armor and monsters giving protect or repair are pretty useless, also it's a good ruleset to bring high damage, fast opportunity monsters to quickly take out small monsters on the other team, thinking about this, bringing a Taunt would be a good idea to counter this!
The battle for today I wanted to share with you is a 39 mana Wild League Equalizer / Unprotected battle, with the Death splinter locked out, so pretty much everything is possible here, on normal battles with unprotected you can kill small monsters fast with opportunity but not this time because of the Equalizer ruleset, so hitting hard is key now and focus fire on the first position, with this high mana count you can expect to have higher HP number so a Heal will be helpful, knowing this, bringing a heal stop (affliction) can be good too, but since we can only choose 6 monsters, we have a lot of choices to make! My choice was the Life team with General Sloan to try and hit as hard as possible, and I didn't have room to bring a healing counter but my strategy this time was to bring so much damage that a heal will come too late, a drawback the Life team has though, is that the hard hitting archers aren't very fast, and when they miss, they're pretty useless, so I had to do some speed management too...
First look at the battlefield:
This is a bot most certainly, bringing a repair into the fight is pretty useless, it's still a meat shield but it's not doing anything, there's also a protect monster... not the best options! There IS a heal, as expected, hopefully my plans work and I'm able to out damage or out kill the heal, and do enough speed management so my attacks land instead of missing all the time, because Djinn Oshannus is a fast one!
My Line-Up:
- Summoner: General Sloan - reason: Doing as much damage as possible, in general, archer units cost less mana for more damage output but you have to manage speed to be able to land the attacks.
- First position: Jared Scar - reason: High damage, bloodlust.
- Second position: Djinn Renova - reason: Good damage, +1 HP to everyone.
- Third position: Time Mage - reason: Low mana, OK damage, slow - speed management.
- Fourth position: Venari Crystalsmith - reason: Healing high HP is always good, I positioned it at this spot to keep the Arbalest firing as long as possible.
- Fifth position: Pelacor Arbalest - reason: Good damage, double strike.
- Sixth position: Supply Runner - reason: OK damage, swiftness, more speed management, it's own speed makes it a good backliner for sneak protection too, I didn't want Arbalest, my main damage dealer to be the last and got taken out early by a enemy sneaker.
The Battle:
Round 1: Oh my! my strategy worked better than I expected! Djinn Oshannus is killed already before a heal could do anything.
Round 2: This is going fast, with Nerissa killed, the risk is gone, the battle is decided.
Round 3: 6 vs. 1 now... looking at the speed and turn order I think Jared is going to make the kill.
Round 4: Nope, I was wrong, Djinn Renova made the kill, apparently magic goes first 🙂 I made a post about speed and the turn order, time to read it back! 😁
A nice 0.24 SPS, pretty average for a Wild battle.
You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.
That's the work done for this week, I'll be back for next weeks challenges, probably on Thursday when they start most of the time.
