Hi everyone and welcome back to my weekly Splinterlands blog, the way I am making my posts normally didn't work this time lol... I keep a text file with nice battles with its rulesets and it's pretty long but.... not a single rise of the commons ruleset 😅 I guess without the spicy cards, the battles weren't worth saving so I had to keep grinding my battles until I got one and then win it because yeah... I don't want to blog about me getting my ass kicked 😝.

This weeks ruleset is about.. the name explains itself a little but not fully - common cards but we are allowed to play rare cards too..
Only common and rare units may be used in battles.
Summoners are unaffected by this rule.
This weeks battle on my alt account is not one of the most spectacular battles I did in the last weeks but what can you say when we can only use common and rare cards, it is however, a very good example of how important speed is! With only fire and earth open to be chosen and since fire doesn't have a tank with void that can attack too (Tusk the Wide) I figured I might go magic, with this low mana amount I didn't expect my opponent to play Unicorn Mustang to counter my magic, if he did - I would be in trouble, but every team we make has its weaknesses of course.
First look at the battlefield:
Well I was right, no Unicorn Mustang, not a single magic card against me, but two opportunity attackers, could I be in trouble after all? I didn't knew for sure when I saw the teams to be honest, battering ram is going to commit suicide against the thorns from mycelic morphoid so that's 1 down.. let's take a look...
My Line-Up:
- Summoner: Obsidian - reason: Magic boost
- First position: Hill Giant - reason: Just a meat shield for only 3 mana really
- Second position: Regal Peryton - reason: Fast, Flying
- Third position: Madcap Magus - reason: Scattershot with magic is nice, the life leech is extra.
- Fourth position: Mycelic Morphoid - reason: Cheap backline guard, nice counter when you expect serpentine spy.
The Battle:
Round 1: Not the best start for my team 😅 I lost 2 cards right away! good thing one of the opportunity monsters is gone too.
Round 2: OK, the losses are equal again, 2 vs. 2 but my tank is almost gone too, jikes! I could be in trouble...
Round 3: Regal Peryton is alone now, Serpentine Spy will get stronger and faster when the martyr dies....
Round 4: A miss!! He missed!! nice!! 😁
Round 5: And he missed again!! I didn't miss! 😝
Round 6: Serpentine Spy died... Radiated Scorcher is slower, and he missed too, that's 3 misses in a row, I love Regal Peryton!
Round 7: OK he hit me this time, he got lucky, but it will be the last thing he did 😈
I won in round 9, Chaos Agent couldn't do anything but die of course...
0.5 SPS for the win, and it's Bronze, not bad at all! it's why I'm staying in Bronze with my alt, my winrate in Silver is just too low so I'm just farming SPS in Bronze now, and pulling some common cards in my chests.
Well, that's it for Battle Mage Secrets this week, I still need to write a Social Media Challenge post too, but I think that's something for the weekend, not feeling 100% as my daughter shared a cold with me and I have a work party later today.
