Hello everyone and welcome back to my Splinterlands blog, it's a Saturday morning for me and a 100% Splinterlands morning I might add, I had a little backlog on making my posts and needed to do my ranked play also, busy but fun!

This weeks Battle Mage Secrets Challenge is about the Melee Mayhem ruleset, in which melee monsters can attack from every position, so your strategy for this ruleset can go multiple ways:

• Prepare for high melee damage and use a Shielded tank
• Use Thorns to counter the melee cards
• Catch your opponent by surprise and go heavy on magic instead

And there's probably some other cool things to come up with you can use effectively too, also with Melee Mayhem, dual attack cards with one of them being melee, like Quora and Drybone Raider are extra effective here so be sure to think of these when you're building your team!

This morning I also made my post for this weeks Social Media Challenge, it's about how Modern League is now fixed for lower level accounts so it's fun and rewarding again!

The battle I saved for this post is a 57 mana Wild League, Even Stevens / Unprotected / Melee Mayhem battle, with only the Water splinter locked out, I was at 3000+ rating at the moment of the battle so with this amount of mana and the high level of players this high, be sure to expect some fireworks! Without armor, we need a lot of HP but I also want some magic protection in case my opponent tries to surprise me, let's see what we can make 🙂 and because of the mana available splinters open to choose from, what to expect from my opponent is just too much, so let's just focus on making a great team myself!

First look at the battlefield:

Ooh, a max level player with a title! The cool thing about playing in wild league is seeing the cool older cards I don't see played every day, like Gloridax Magus. 😀
I think both teams are about evenly strong, the heal probably won't do much, I simply do too much damage every turn, but we will see what happens, sometimes a small difference can win or lose you the battle.

My Line-Up:

• Summoner: Quix the Devious - reason: Access to the dragons.
• First position: Tusk the Wide - reason: Inspire, magic protection.
• Second position: Charlok Minotaur - reason: High damage, True Strike.
• Third position: Djinn Chwala - reason: High damage, Thorns, Enrage.
• Fourth position: Chaos Dragon - reason: Scattershot with magic blast damage is awesome.
• Fifth position: Drybone Raider - reason: 4 attacks every turn!
• Sixth position: Naga Assassin - reason: Fast sneak protection with backfire.

The Battle:

Round 1: Whoops, that's not the best start, my tank is already killed!

Round 2: Ooh this is going fast on both sides, we're about evenly matched, this is getting close!

Round 3: With the enemy dragon killed, things are looking a lot better for me 😄 my Assassin will fire first, killing the Crystalsmith, moving Zyvax to the first position being unable to fire, great!

It went exactly like this, lots of damage, lots of kills and another win for me!

Well that was two hours straight making Splinterlands posts 😅 I can use some more coffee now and let's relax with some ranked battles now, I hopefully catch you on my next post, or maybe we meet on the battlefield!
