Hi everyone! a little late Battle Mage Secrets post from me this week, busy with real life stuff.. finally found some time now so here we are again, welcome to my weekly Splinterlands Blog, today I'll be covering this weeks highlighted ruleset: Lost Legendaries, and that's a nice one every once in a while now we get spammed with Llama / Kron and other annoying overpowered teams 😆.
To find out how you can participate in the challenge yourself, you can check out the post yourself here.
In this ruleset, no legendary monsters are allowed to be played, however, legendary summoners are still allowed.
It's not that I have specific strategies for this one, like the odd or even cards being blocked, it's just one extra handicap we need to work around.
I have a lot of nice battles saved in a text file but I didn't have ANY lost legendary battle, so it was quite a grind to get one, and win it, winning is hard this season since the bot ban!
But finally, I found one! This weeks battle is a 27 mana What Doesn't Kills You.. / Lost Legendary ruleset, with only Water, Life and Dragon splinters open. Like I said, I see it as a secondary ruleset, where in this case the enrage ruleset is a lot more important so you would like to pick a melee tank with good damage and speed so it gets boosted a lot by enrage. So the probable choices for each splinter would be Diemonshark, which already has enrage at level 5, Drybone Barbarian, same story, or Djinn Chwala.
First look at the battleground:
Well... I was wrong in anticipating a strong melee tank, nevertheless Chwala is a great tank, even when it's thorns are worthless this battle. In my opinion my opponent should've spent the mana better with a better tank instead of the Silvershield Sheriff because Captain Katie gets to the front way too soon now, but hey! I'm not complaining because every win counts this season, damn it's hard!
My Line-Up:
- Summoner: Quix the Devious - reason: Access to the dragon splinter.
- First position: Djinn Chwala - reason: Good melee damage, gets boosted nicely with enrage, thorns, but they're useless in hindsight.
- Second position: Tide Biter - reason: Cheap with good damage, reflection shield for enemy Chwala.
- Third position: Dhampir Infiltrator - reason: Doublestrike sneaker, great card, cheap.
- Fourth position: Venari Wavesmith - reason: Nice magic damage and protect.
- Fifth position: Angelic Mandarin - reason: Sneak protection and triage.
The Battle:
Round 1: Pelacor Conjurer already died, leaving the supporting Scavo Hireling alone in the front, not the best choice, Captain Katie almost killed my Wavesmith, once that bloodlust get's going, it's hard to stop it when you didn't bring dispel.
Round 2: Well that went fast, Katie already died, and with it the only threat in the enemy team, this is one of the fastest battles lol.
At the start of round 3, Wavesmith fired at the Sheriff and Tide Biter finished the job, a fast win!
Nice SPS earnings every win! but the wins aren't happening as much as against the bots 😆.
