Hello everyone, good afternoon all people in the Splinterverse and beyond! I hope you're having a great day, I've got a busy blogging day, I decided to do all the splinterlands blogging for this week on one day, so I just my biggest post ever for the Social Media Challenge for this week about my splinterlands journey in 2.5 years, how I started and the whole story.. and it's quite a lot, hence my big post lol.
Now it's time to make a post about a glorious battle for this weeks Battle Mage Secrets: Back to Basics!
You can find out how you can participate in the challenge yourself by reading the Splinterlands post here.
Back to Basics, it says it all... Units lose all abilities while summoner effects are still active, basically meaning you're gonna see a big melee tank up front with a lot of magic behind it, in Silver it's like this most of the times, so you better prepare for magic with high HP in the first few positions!
And this guy nerfs all magic damage, so with Bortus out of Modern now, he's my go to guy in most cases with the Back to Basics ruleset, and because many players try to nerf magic, I like to use high damage archers in my last 3 positions.
This weeks battle I want to share is a Back to Basics only battle in the Wild League, no additional rulesets, with only Death and Dragon available to be chosen from, a 43 mana cap is pretty high, so we both can make a big team that packs a punch, this is going to be fun! Like I said, I like to nerf magic with this ruleset, so it was an easy choice for me what to play this time.
First look at the battlefield:
Quix, nerfing archery damage! I didn't expect that! So he's nerfing the archery damage for 3 of my cards, but I'm nerfing magic damage for 4 of his cards, he choose to use a double tank, which can be nice but of course Chwala isn't going to do anything until he reaches the first position. My damage output is better and I've got slightly more HP on the battlefield too, I think I'm okay!
My Line-Up:
- Summoner: Thadius Brood - reason: -1 magic damage
- First position: Cursed Windeku - reason: good damage and great HP for only 6 mana makes this a no-brainer.
- Second position: Usut - reason: High HP secondary tank, ok damage.
- Third position: Magi of Chaos - reason: Good damage and ok HP, good choice for 6 mana.
- Fourth position: Dhampir Stalker - reason: Great damage.
- Fifth position: Lira the Dark - reason: Fast, Good damage.
- Sixth position: Soul Strangler - reason: Good damage, low HP, a real 'Glass Cannon'
The Battle:
Round 1: The enemy Windeku died, and mine won't take long for it to follow him.
Round 2: That's nice, the secondary tank is killed also, now I'm getting to the softer targets so the killing can be accelerated, my secondary tank still has a good amount of HP, nice! 😊
Round 3: Because my damage output is higher, he isn't able to get rough my secondary tank, and that's exactly it's job of course, this will be over fast!
Round 4: Doing the hard tank work, Usut finished the job, killing the last enemy card on the board, securing another win for me!
You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.
a nice amount of SPS considering it's Wild League!
That's it for my blogging this week, back to the ranked battles, it's hard! I don't think I'll be able to get as many chests as last season...
