In these turbulent times it is difficult to estimate the real value of each currency with respect to the dollar or the euro because its price changes with each news from the markets. For example, a currency that today is $3 and tomorrow $2, it seems to us that it is low compared to dollar, but compared with others cryptocurrencies its value maybe has been increased.
So why not take advantage of this moment of general chaos in the markets and compare crypto within the cryptocurrency microclimate to see which ones fared better?
To do this I am going to compare six emblematic cryptocurrencies against Bitcoin (BTC) which is to this day the ‘gold’ of cryptocurrencies.
The ETH is trading at 0.0234 BTC, 32% less than it was a year ago, but if you have been lucky enough to have bought it six months ago, its value in BTC has increased by 22%. Compared to the last week, it has lost almost 10% compared to BTC, but today it is recovering.
Binance Coin (BNB)
With all the strength of the largest exchange, the BNB is trading at 0.0019 BTC so it has lost 50% so far this year compared to Bitcoin. In the month it has lost 17% compared to BTC but we expect Binance to do something before its flagship currency loses interest in the market.
Litecoin is one of the most damaged currencies with a 56% loss in the year with respect to BTC. The truth is that it is slowly recovering its historical value with respect to the BTC although it is still long enough to see it recovered. If you want to risk a little, maybe it's time to buy.
Basic Attention Token (BAT)
Our beloved BAT is worth 0.00002449 BTC and has lost 50% of its value over the year. Anyway, if you bought BAT a few months ago you have been able to earn 40% of its value in BTC. In the week it has lost 7%.
Its low value 0.000001819 on BTC did not free it from an annual loss of 68% with respect to that currency. Like ETH if you have been lucky to have bought six months ago because you have earned BTC 20%. So far this week he has lost 8%.
With its super-traded price, Ripple has also not avoided losing 64% against Bitcoin so far this year. Its current price is 0.0002445 BTC, so a week ago it has been almost 7% profit on BTC and it would seem to be returning to its historical value.
In general, all the currencies are losing against the BTC with respect to their value a year ago, except for exceptions such as the BitcoinSV that has gained 25% and the incredible performance of the Tezos (XTZ) that is worth 150% more than a year ago in BTC.
