What is Town Star?
If you ever played Farmville, then you already get the basic ideas of the game, but by implementing a web 3.0 type of gameplay centered around NFTs, Gala Games has definitely given the classic farm simulator game a fresh take!
First, you pick a location anywhere in the world. Based on where you choose to place your town, you'll have different resources available to you. You could be on a patch of desert (rich in sand), a forest (tons of trees), plains (lots of open space), near a mountain (for mining), near a river (for freight shipping) and more! Starting with a simple plot, a farmer, a builder, a well, a field and a silo, players must gradually use the in-game money they have to build up their production.
Crops are crafted into goods, and goods are processed into commodities. Then before running out of money or fuel, players must sell the crops, goods and commodities they are producing to nearby cities. This is how they fund continued expansion and growth! Every time a player successfully makes a shipment of goods to a city, they rake in some Star Points based on the difficulty of acquiring and sending the items. The Star Points ultimately determine the winners in the competition game, which lasts anywhere from a couple days to a whole week.
Building a successful Town Star town takes determination, persistence and a high degree of strategic planning. The best players are able to set distant goals for their town, then spend days achieving them and watching their town come to life with production and efficiency. The farmers and workers of the 3d town may do the work for you, but it takes a lot of effort on your part to guide them in the right directions.
May Mayhem
With the incredible success that Gala Games has been having with recent partnerships and exponential growth, they have decided to host the biggest free tournament ever in the history of blockchain gaming. $1 million in prizes are being divided equally among 4 separate week-long tournaments throughout May.
The top 500 in each tournament win money.
There is a rather unconventional breakdown of prizes in these special tournaments, to encourage more people to give it a shot and to make it clear that anyone can win. They are also changing up the game every week by adding new exclusive rules to the mix. Below is a detailed breakdown of the prize payouts! Notice that 1st place and 500th place both win $10,000.

In the 3rd week of the May Mayhem tournament, the focus will be crafting WINE (specifically, Pinot Noir). That means that deliveries of Pinot Noir will result in 4x the number of usual Star Points but they will award no in-game money. This added rule creates an interesting dynamic because it requires every player to have a backup form of income while working to produce as much Pinot Noir as they can!
HINT for picking your location - Pick a spot next to a mountain, because you'll need to produce iron for your win barrels!
Town Star is designed to be learned gradually, and by design, the game doesn't give you every piece of information about how to craft certain resources. You'll have to be clever, and you'll need to do some research! Hurry and JOIN to get a good spot when the timer runs out!
