BTC inflows surge past half a billion.
Blood in the Streets, Except One
Let’s not sugarcoat it. The Bitcoin ETF scene right now is a one-man show.
While the majority of funds stumbled into May leaking capital, BlackRock’s IBIT ETF rolled in like a freight train pulling over 531 million in net inflows on May 5 alone. That’s not just healthy demand. That’s a message. And the rest? Posting red numbers like it’s a clearance sale.
ETF Scoreboard: May 5, 2025
- Total Bitcoin ETF net inflows: 425 million
- BlackRock IBIT net inflow: 531 million
- Everyone else combined: Net outflows
Let’s break it down by name.
- Fidelity (FBTC): 57 million in outflows
- Bitwise (BITB): 22 million out
- ARK 21Shares (ARKB): 6 million out
- Franklin Templeton (EZBC): 2.7 million down
- Grayscale (GBTC): another 16 million vanished
BlackRock: Eating the Market Alive
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust now holds over 58.6 billion in Bitcoin and has accumulated 44.2 billion in net inflows since launch. That’s not just dominance. That’s empire status.
To compare, Fidelity sits at 18.7 billion in assets under management and is still struggling with constant outflows.
There’s no contest anymore. IBIT is lapping the field.
Ethereum ETFs: Total Silence
All nine Ethereum ETFs posted zero flows.
No inflows. No outflows. Just silence. Not even a whisper of movement. That’s not balance that’s apathy. The market doesn’t even care enough to sell.
Zooming Out: The Bigger Picture
In the last week of April and the first week of May, Bitcoin ETFs pulled in 1.8 billion in net inflows. The week before that? 3 billion.
But zoom in and it's clear: most of that capital flowed straight into IBIT. The rest are just placeholders.
Even during Bitcoin’s drop below 90,000 and the chaos when it briefly dipped under 85,000 in February, IBIT held strong. It absorbed the volatility and kept stacking.
Investors weren’t scared. They were waiting.
The Truth: This Isn’t a Race Anymore
If you're watching Bitcoin ETFs and not watching IBIT, you're watching the wrong movie. This isn’t about choosing the best ETF. It’s about recognizing the only one that actually matters right now.
BlackRock isn’t competing. It’s consuming. IBIT is the market leader. The rest are background noise.
Not financial advice. Just what the smart money is doing.
