Racoon coin sounds like a joke right, its not this is a real crypto & its based off the WAX blockchain they can actually be "Mined" now instead of just earned. Due to this development I felt as though the Collect social Dapp deserved another walk through.

Hive will be forking in two days so ill also attempt to give users an overview that may be freaking out, I know this news immediately following a market decrease can be worrisome but I dont think there is much of a reason to be worried Ill explain more later in todays write up.

Racoon coins

For those unaware of the WAX Dapp called collect social their crypto Racoon coins may not be something you have ever heard of. This is fine its a smaller company with a fairly sizable user base for a WAX Dapp that rewards users Racoon Coins for registering their NFT collections that are listed on collect social.

A week or so ago they announced that the NFT collections registered will now actively mine Racoon Coins as well after the initial reward as long as you hold the NFT colection in your WAX wallet.

I have already utilized this Dapp to Mine racoon coins, as well as generate rewards for simply registering the NFT colection. Racoon coins can be used to purchase collect social NFT packs & traded on Alcor for EOS or WAX.

While this Dapp can be a little difficult to use now more then ever is it worth the effort. Though the majority of the Racoon coins enervated require you to be able to purchase the NFTs, there are some awarded by friending other users and logging in daily. this makes it free ore very cheap to utilize if your on a budget.

For the investors with a little more money to play with there are options for you as well ill do my best to explain both options.

cheap/free options

Assuming like myself many start as a blockchain baller on a budget, I get it no matter what deals or opportunity's present themselves it means nothing if you dont have the money to risk. So there are free or very cheap options that you may want to consider when attempting to profit from collect social.

As I previously mentioned some of the challenges can be completed for free which would reward you with racoon coins.

Though awarding XP they also occasionally reward Racoon coins, once your account increases in level they also reward racoon coins then as well.

Since Hive Engine now allows you to get WAX for your HIVE or any Hive engine asset you can get a little WAX to spend for the cheap NFT collections. The cheapest almost free one is the alien worlds Abundant Arms NFT Colection. The cost is 1 WAX or roughly $0.10 USD at time of writing many of these colections can be completed for very little WAX.

Its honestly very cheap when you consider the NFTs can be sold at or above cost if you chose to stop mining Racoon Coins it has very little risk on the part of the investor.

Dark country and Alien Worlds NFT colection I believe are currently the cheapest to complete.

Another cheap option that only earns a 1 time payment of racoon coins is puzzle completion.

However this option is not the best as its not a long term daily return like colection completion.

Verify the colection

Verifying is only necessary when buying the NFT colection second hand to utilize on collect social. This is a little tedious but a better safe then sorry type of situation, to verify an asset first go to collect socials verify assets tab.

The asset ID can be found on the NFTs info on WAX atomic hub

By entering the ID number without the hash tag into the verify asset page on collect social you will determine before purchase weather or not the NFT has been claimed previously. Depending on the amount of WAX spent this can be a very useful precaution as it would make it less likely that you would waste the money on an NFT previously claimed.

Claiming the colection reward

This is fairly simplistic but its none the less important, just purchasing the required NFTs isn't enough you have to claim the reward once you complete the colection.

After claiming the colection wait about 5 min and then check your dashboard on collect social your reward should be available.

After which if its your first colection your attempting to mine with click the mining tab and initiate mining once this is done once you no longer need to initiate any further NFT collections they will just begin mining once claimed for the duration of the assets ownership in your WAX wallet.

Rather tedious granted but the Racoon coin has many benefits it can be used in liquidity pools on alcor for instance.

May take some effort but its a nice little passive income that can be set up and left to run with no additional effort other then claiming profits

Hive Fork

Most crypto forks tend to be a good thing or in certain instances a means of two projects on the same ledger to part ways. This fork to me appears to be good news dubbed Equilibrium (meaning balance) the focus seems to be on just that balancing both the HBD pricing and the curation reward for voting on content.

Other then that small changes like making exchanges from HIVE to HBD possible from wallet. The majority of average HIVE users wont notice much of a change those focused on curation rewards will likely be more affected but its negligible the difference in my view.

Allowing for auto payments the HIVE blockchain Votes for projects will now last only a year to give new project a more fair shot.

Really just sounds like fixing minor issues and slightly improving the overall hive experience. Starting a test net which is an attractive proposal for perspective DEVS.

I may be overlooking something but from what i can gather its more or less just slight improvements unless you a project DEV in which case its fairly important the updates are meant to make their jobs a little easier when designing a project for the Hive blockchain.

I just thought I would address this Fork as things like this scared me as a rooky blockchain investor & it took me a while to better understand the specifics. Change can be scary & its made worse when you cant fully comprehend the specifics I'm no pro but I'm fairly confident in stating this fork is a good thing.
