By Abhimanyu Krishnan | News | 10 Aug 2020

Money market protocol on Compound launched Open Price Feed, a permissionless price oracle, on August 8. The open price oracle allows the protocol to rely on price feeds from entities outside the Compound infrastructure.

  • “Reporters” can submit prices to the chain
  • The price feed has been in testing for 10 days
  • OpenZeppelin will audit the price feed, while Certora will audit the contracts
  • Compound Finance founder Robert Leshner said “any other project could piggyback on to use any of the prices included”
  • Initial assets are BTC, ETH, DAI, REP, BAT, ZRX, COMP, LINK, KNC, USDC and USDT
