Last time I wrote about Rising Star, I said that I generally didnt have much trouble keeping my Ego meter down. Well, things have changed a bit. I picked up a Grand Piano ( to prop up my mortal remains, of course!), which grants me 200 Luck. This was a pretty significant uptick in my Luck rating, and the unforseen result is that when I run a concert mission and get drunk fans, I get lots of drunk fans! Enough to push my Ego meter into the high teens!

And the skill bonus I get from music practices is relatively small compared to the 400-500 Drunk Fans. Well that won't do. So, I've countered by purchasing more Musician cards with high skill levels. They do stack if you have multiple of the same card, which is a little strange from a gameplay perspective, but I'll take it.

Before this, I generally had a specific type of card I would focus on purchasing. But now I feel pulled in all directions! I need Fans to reach higher levels, Skill cards to help offset the additional Fans and the constant Ego gains (maybe there should be a Check into Rehab mission that can permanently remove some Ego!), and Experience cards to help me reach the higher levels! I find all of my hard earned Starbits being quickly eaten up by additional game acquisitions!

Still grinding towards level 75 (currently on 69)and I begin to understand that burnout that musicians feel. I haven't even gotten to the real touring stage, but playing the same damn clubs and dive bars week after week starts to get old rather quickly!

With the advent of November, Beta has officially arrived in Rising Star. And with it has come twenty-six new cards, from the Legendary Swingin' Steve, to the more mundane Castanets!

I definitely appreciate the new content and musical options. Should be interesting once I can put my band together!

I just today discovered that I can change which card displays in my profile! I've gone with the Classic Punk for the time being.
