Welcome back! It's been a while!
In my last dCity report, I mentioned that Art Galleries would now provide income from Art sales in-game (which is pretty cool, both from a community and an immersive standpoint), but I hadn't really thought much about the fact that I owned two Art Galleries. The other day I noticed something interesting on my Hive Engine Explorer page.

I had been receiving a trickle of HIVE income from dCity for the past couple of months! It's not much, and it's not every day, but I now have a second source of of passive income from dCity -- HIVE from my Art Galleries, and WEED from my Weed Farms!
Sweet!
Additionally, a new change in the way government works has brought with it Lobbying. Anyone holding 8000+ SIM (based on a 30-day average) can put their weight towards various lobbying options, each of which provide a special income opportunity. This is a great idea for an interactive way to encourage SIM holding. And, as might be expected, the most popular item on the political agenda seems to be the Holding Rewards option!

So there are now a number of different ways to earn passive income in dCity that are not just the in-game currency -- BEER tokens with Breweries, WEED tokens with Weed Farms, HIVE with Art Galleries and / or significant SIM holdings, and daily HIVE income for being one of the top 400 cities!
I love the cross-token interactions and the ever-changing landscape of dCity. I'm onboard the train now, and I've sent more HIVE over to spend on bolstering my dCity economy. My goals are to breach the top 400 list and to also accumulate enough SIM to take advantage of the holding rewards.
I started grabbing random buildings based solely on price and building stats, but I've come to realize that specializing is key, and I'm working on switching out my extraneous holdings to try and stay in my lane of growing weed, and providing a steady dose of job training to the ever present Homeless and Immigrants.
Here's my current city dashboard. Taxes have been light lately, giving me a respectable SIM income for my city size, and hopefully allowing me to keep up a steady expansion.

This game feels like it is headed in the right direction. If you want to run your own city, you can join up at dcity.io
