When the leader's chair turns into a tool of flogging, tyranny and injustice, Change becomes an inevitable need, but the first step will always remain an obstacle to all kinds of improvement of life and preservation of dignity of each citizen, except in the case of a united revolt, serious and crucial in its goals and actions.
Ordinarily, the politician is elected to be a representative of a nation having duties, privileges and responsibilities that can vary significantly based on the constitutional rules. The leader of the country must be a fair implementer of the laws without bias towards anyone, without discrimination between the compatriots ,to preserve their rights, respect their humanity and keep the security of the homeland. This is just a brief definition of any honest leader, a definition that has unfortunately remained closed in dictionaries and has become a dream of every free citizen who aims to live in dignity and peace.
However, the reality is completely different from what we are witnessing. Most of what we see around through different social media are oppressed populations, some are colonized, others mired in endless wars, maybe there are some minorities privileged to live in a certain democracy even if it's relatively executed.
It seems that the path of the governments never crosses that of the populations, or rather the interests of the populations are completely different from those of the governments.
We recently witnessed the fall of the tyrannical Syrian president Assad , who did not leave any kind of torment and humiliation that he and his followers practiced. The Saydnaya prisoners are the best evidence of the heinous crimes committed against humanity. Men, women, and even children were not spared, arrested and tortured with no pity, whole families were imprisoned and tormented until death. Horrific scenes which were displayed on TV and all the different social media, cruel scenes that makes the heart cry before the eyes.
While watching trending videos documenting what happened with women who were raped and tortured for years, the ugly side of politics is revealed eventually. Girls who hadn't enjoyed neither their childhood nor their teen-age, innocent kids whose childhood was assassinated and disgraced in the cradle. Here, any conscience wise rises the main question, what was their sin to bear such cruelty by killing their humanity ?!!
They, simply, claimed their proper rights to live a dignified life in security and freedom. Their arms and souls were completely undermined, therefore, the only way to achieve their goals was the recourse to a revolution against the dispotic regime. But the price was too expensive because freedom's price is always stained by blood.
Shame on all the humanity who saw such monstrous crimes and remained silent because silence is complicity. Shame on the UN for turning a blind eye to the most atrocious crimes without taking any procedure to stop any horridness all over the world, and then claiming with big mouth that it cares about human rights.
Politics has become a game that only a tyrant or a fool can master. What a cynical statement when I hear someone says that a certain leader is a vertuous politician. The truth is that Virtue and Politics cannot, by all means, be combined in one sentence, they are parallel and can neither be matched nor existing in this world, as Machiavelli Niccolo said : "politics have no relation to morals."
Politics is nothing but a legitimate means for rulers to deceive people and harvest more money. Wealth is the main driver for ascending to the throne of power, and if there are wealthy people who have reached the throne of power, it is only to protect their interests, wealths and legacies. They spare no harm in growing it in any way and at the expense of any constitutional rules, to the detriment of the populations'rights and blood .
No matter how long a dictatorship and injustice last, there must come a day when the dawn raises bearing the light of justice and democracy, announcing the sun of freedom shining with the deliverance from chains, because every oppressor has an inevitable fatal end. Congrats to the syrian revolutionists to bring about this day finally.
