I have already introduced River Secchia here
and here
A couple of weeks ago I passed in the town of Sassuolo and I take half an hour to move into the river Secchia where there is the possibility to hike along different paths (I will show some pictures in a next post) but it is also possible to move for a while also in the riverbed.

In Sassuolo there are two main bridges that cross the Secchia river. The old one connect the centre of town to the hamlet of Veggia in the Province of Reggio Emilia.

The river marks the border between the Provinces of Modena, on the right (eastern) bank, and of Reggio Emilia, on the left (western) bank.

Here the river stream can be very strong and have a great erosive capacity on the banks that are mainly made of conglomerates, ravels and sandstones.

On the riverbed, there also are wood relics. sometimes very big.

The river landscapes are very composite. There are steep banks, sandy and gravelly beach, bushes and trees or nude grounds.

All the images were taken by me with the smartphone camera.
