This representative of arboreal fungi appears in late spring and grows until late autumn. Its habitat is dead coniferous trees, most often it is pine or spruce.

It grows trees in bundles. Its cap has a diameter of 2 to 10 cm. Like most arboreal fungi, it grows sideways to the substrate. It has a shell-like, kidney-shaped, semi-circular shape. It is wavy.

It becomes spread out with age. It changes color when exposed to moisture. The surface of the cap is velvety, covered with fibrils, and the edges of the cap are rolled up.

The plaques are also orange in color. They are wavy quite wide. The leg is practically non-existent, it is an extended and elongated part of the hat.

The flesh is elastic, thin but firm. The color is yellow. It has an unpleasant, bland mushroom smell and an unpleasant taste. The mushroom is inedible.
