Today I summarized my balcony gardening season. I had to do it early because I was away, but some plants stayed put, and I hope they'll survive 10 days without water.

I harvested most of the crops, and they went with me to the countryside. Yes, I know it sounds silly, a bit like hauling wood to the forest. But times have changed. I grow organic food on my balcony in an urban area, and rural residents go to supermarkets for chemical cancers.

As I write this, I've already finished scrambled eggs with home-grown tomatoes. Were the scrambled eggs amazing? I have no idea, because I have a cold and some kind of infection. I don't feel a thing.

These are the two I'm most proud of this year. The first is passion fruit, which I love, and the second is kiwi. Both are sown from seeds from Asia. We'll see if they take off.

And some peppers seem to be eager to continue growing, as flowers are appearing. Hopefully, that will continue.
