Ophiocordyceps gracilis - Spherical, egg-shaped head, sometimes distorted. Dimensions 7 x 5 mm. The whole surface gently points (estuaries). Yellow-orange, orange, sometimes with shades of brown or red.

Stem (sterile part) 25 to 40 mm long, 2 to 4 mm thick. Cylindrical. Yellowish, yellowish brown, brownish red. Brighter at the base, often darker at the base. Surface slightly longitudinally furrowed.

Flesh or brittle. White, yellowish colors. No special smell.

Occurrence: In damp places, on the banks of rivers. It parasites on butterfly larvae buried in the ground, which grows like roots. It can be found in early spring after the snow melts. Rare.

Value: Unaffected fungus.
