Chanterelle is one of the most popular edible forest mushrooms. They are orange, yellow or white, fleshy and funnel-shaped. On the lower surface, under a smooth cap, most species have dorsal ridges that run almost to the very end of the stem, which gently tapers off the hat. Many species give off a fruity apricot-like aroma and often have a mild pepper flavor.
The hat reaches a diameter of 10 - 120 mm. The stem is the color of a hat with a slightly lighter shade; reaches a height of 30 - 70 mm and a thickness of 5 - 25 mm. A very good edible mushroom.
