Edible mushrooms in the World - Boletus luridus (Lurid bolete)

    Boletus luridus (Lurid bolete) - The hat can reach 20 cm in diameter and more. The color is yellow-orange, sometimes olive with a pinkish tinge, darkening when touched.

    In young mushrooms, the pores are yellow, change color over time and become orange-red, olive green.

    The leg of young fruiting bodies is wider at the bottom, cylindrical and full in the middle. Reaches a height of up to 15 cm. A characteristic feature of the leg is its color and mesh. The stalk is yellowish at the top, the redder it becomes lower, until it is carmine at the bottom at the base. The entire surface is covered with a distinct network of red veins.

    The flesh is flesh-yellow, brown-red at the base of the shaft. After damage, it immediately turns blue, navy blue-blue, and after a while it becomes grayish in color. The taste is mild, the smell is slightly mushroom.

    Distribution: Likes calcareous soils, moderately common in Europe. It grows on the ground in all forests, but most enjoys under fir and beech trees. It can be found from June to October. Value: Raw mushroom is poisonous. It cannot be combined with the consumption of alcohol. Suitable for consumption after boiling.
