Late last night (or early today) I announced that I was going to start a podcast focusing on DAG coins. It's been something I've been thinking about for a while and after great thought, I ultimately decided that I have to do it. When it comes to this space, they're just the type of coins that I'm most interested in. Don't get me wrong, I love Ethereum, I'm in full support of the DeFi movement and I think the Brave Browser is awesome, but nothing excites me like DAG coins.
Nano, IOTA, COTI... The entire space is just interesting and I feel like there needs to be a voice championing these types of projects, especially in a space that's saturated with content around blockchain.
In my Tweet, I announced that I need support from the community to make this happen. Audio equipment is expensive and it's even more expensive when you want something of quality, so out of full transparency I listed everything that I need below, so you can understand where you're money is going.
Audio Technica ATR2100x USB/XLR Mic: Microphones are obviously the most important part of any podcast, however, what's more, important is a GOOD mic. I tried to find a nice balance here, as I wanted the price of the mic to be inexpensive, but the quality to be above average. In order to keep the quality of the podcast high, I want to be able to send my interviewee a microphone via the mail. Many people do interviews with iPhone headphones or the mic from the webcam, we can't have cheap audio quality when talking about these projects... we don't want to push people away. The mics are $99 each and I would need 4 mics so that I can issue them to people when needed.
Ecamm Call Recorder: This is a software that is built for Skype. It allows users to record their Skype calls, this is vital considering most of the interviews I have will be with people who live in different parts of the world. The software is $39.99, which is a one time fee.
Zoom H6 Recorder: Most of the podcasts will be via Skype calls, but we do have a big crypto community here in Detroit. The Zoom H6 would allow me to record in-person podcast. I want to talk to shop owners here that accept Bitcoin but not Nano or COTI or any other DAG coin... I want to know what's holding them back or maybe even educate them on why they should accept it. The zoom is the most expensive item, coming in at $329, but the quality it produces is top-notch!
Total Cost: 765.98
What's The Podcast Going To Be About?
So before you donate, you probably want to know... what will this podcast focus on. And the answer is EVERYTHING! I want to go over all the projects, you know, give my real opinion and I also want to involve the community, I want to interview founders, developers and even you, the investor. I want to know what projects are being built, I want to know what companies who sell products in exchange for these coins are experiencing and why you the investor picked this project amongst the 1500+ in this space.
The podcast would be bi-weekly and would be considered long-form content (45min to 1 hour per episode). Interviews would be the main focusing as I think sharing the community voice is important, but some episodes will be solo or an AMA type style. If you're interested in being on the podcast or have a particular person in mind that you think should be on the podcast then be sure to follow me on Twitter @KeenanRIVALS.
We need more content, more marketing and we the community have to step up and make it happen.
