Splinterlands Pack and Battle Update

I opened a few more packs. I bought some cards. I learned a new strategy. I like the game even more now.

I opened 2 packs and one of them I used potions and the 2nd pack I didn't have any potions left.

The first pack was okay, I got a Gold and 2 Rare's so I was happy with that.

The second pack that I opened I didn't have any potions. It sucked. I don't think I will open packs without potions again. But at least I learned my lesson.

I sold 2 cards to get some DEC to play with. I had about 500 DEC to used and I decided to buy 2 cards that I really hate fighting against.

I bought Creeping Ooze for $0.03. Which is way more valuable to me. It costs 1 point to use and basically all it does is reduce the speed of your opponents cards by 2 for as long as it is alive. What I like to do is place it in 2nd to last place. There are some cards that attack the last card in play and with it only have 1 health it will die quickly.

My second card I bought was the Furious Chicken. I bought it for $0.12. It is free to use as it doesn't cost any to put into your lineup. It has 1 heath. It's only purpose to tank 1 attack. It has already saved me numerous times. I am still trying to figure out is it best to place it in 1st place or last place. It can take away ranged attacks that attack the lowest health card. Or it can be in 1st place to tank a attack by a quicker opponent. What's interesting is that when it gets to level 4 it gains 1 melee attack strength and still costs 0 points.

I also learned something new about the game. It better to lose a ton of matches in a row to tank your Rating. I got up to 645 rating and was quite happy with that. I was losing a ton of matches because I was getting pitted against people with 1,500 + ratings. So I learned a new strategy. I am only focusing on my daily quests.

I will search for a ranked game. If the opponent is at a rating above 700 I won't play them. I will just surrender. If the game mode is one I don't like I will just surrender. It is not worth the time to me to battle with someone when I know I am going to lose. I will take the small hit in rating points and just find another match that I actually stand a chance at. Now I still lose plenty of matches but I also win a lot more then when I had a rating of 645.

For example this is a good match for me. The power level is only 270 which means they don't have many cards and are probably newer to the game. the Rating of 997 which is pretty high but it's a gamble I'm willing to take my time on. And I did end up winning!

My DEC capture rate suffers greatly but that is okay with me because I am not playing for DEC right now. I am playing to have fun and get lots of cards.

My Power Rating is 3,890 so still a ways off of the 5,000+ needed for Bronze 1 but I am working towards it. Hopefully I get good cards in my 7 Chests for Bronze 2 in 3 days when the season ends.
