So with the new year I started to play Splinterlands again, and not to get rich but just to play as a game for fun. I have been reading a few articles on it about how it's play to win now. I still wanted to give it a go and just see if it could be fun again like when I first played.
When I logged back in I had 5 chests waiting for me from the previous season and I got okay cards from it, but mostly potions. I have completed 2 Quests in the game in the last couple of days. The last quest was the Fire Quest and what I got in the chest surprised me. See, I thought the chests you get from quests are always the crappy potions or what have you. But not today. I got a Rare card in the chest and it's worth $0.05 which isn't to bad in my opinion.
Here is my new baby!

I am not the greatest with strategy in Splinterlands, or maybe it's just because I don't have a lot of cards to play with. I lose a lot, but it is still fun. I win enough games to keep me playing.
Here is my current league stats.

I can max out at Bronze 2, because I guess my cards are crap. But that means I get 7 chests at the end of the league which is nice. I understand why people say it's pay to win because once you get higher you get way more free cards at the end of the league but you basically have to pay to get there are just get stupid lucky!

If anyone has any Splinterlands advice I would love to hear it. Or if anyone has any cards they don't want :)
Upon looking at my stats I am happy with my numbers. 111 wins out of 284. That is a 39% win ratio which is better than I thought to my honest.

I realized today that packs are $2 each. And the potions I have are to be used when opening packs. I was thinking about buying 2 packs just to test it out but in order to send crypto over to a wallet to be able to buy packs with crypto I would have to pay ETH gas fees. I am not about to spend $6 in ETH to send $4 worth of crypto. So maybe when gas fees go down I will buy 2 packs and write a post about my luck.
