Good morning my friends and happy week, great day today to cook beef with a nice Greek way that we call it stifado . Wanna try this ??? I will help you

Ingredients

1 kg of beef cut into pieces measuring 7x7cm.

800 gr. onions, for stew

4 tomatoes, finely chopped

¼ κ.γ. nutmeg, grated

¼ κ.γ. allspice, grated

¼ κ.γ. clove, grated

2 bay leaves

1 kg tomato paste

150 ml red wine

600 ml beef broth

3 tbsp. red wine vinegar

Salt

Pepper

Olive oil

Preparation

Place a large pot on high heat and let it burn. Once it is burnt, add a little olive oil, sauté the meat in portions on all sides, giving it a dark color, and transfer it to a bowl.

Then, in the same pot, empty the onions, add a little olive oil if necessary and sauté them for 2-3 minutes.

Then, put the meat back in the pot together with the tomato paste, the clove, the allspice, the nutmeg, the bay leaves, mix with a wooden spoon and sauté again for 1 minute.

Then quench with red wine, allow the alcohol to evaporate and add the remaining ingredients to the pot. Stir again with the wooden spoon and simmer with the lid closed on medium to low heat for about 1 hour and 40 minutes to 2 hours.

Once it is ready, serve the stew hot with french fries.

Stay safe and healthy my friends and take care of your people

My best wishes from Greece
