it is a cheap unit with 5 health - finding reasons to use Angelic Mandarin in Splinterlands

So there is another week in Splinterlands' Share Your Battle! challenge.
This week's featured unit Angelic Mandarin is another of these units where I still have to find its proper use. So without further ado let's find out if I can find its ultimate usecase!

As always my focus is on Silver league in particular. Here you encounter unleveled bcx1 monsters, for the most part.

So what are the Mandarin's selling points to me?
-It is cheap! (in terms of mana costs) 3 mana points is not expensive and thus the Angelic can potentially find a lot of use in low mana battles and serve as point filler in mid mana matches.
-It is cheap! (in terms of card value) At the time of writing it is sold for around $0.20 which is not too expensive for a Rare. Therefore the card should be easily available to a lot of players.
-It has 5 health. For a 3-mana-monster this is not too bad!

hmmm... I think that is it. Initiative 2 is better than nothing, but I think not worth mentioning nor its ranged attack of 1. Although while upgrading the unit gets extra abilities there is none at level 1.

So let us head to a match of mine including the Angelic Mandarin:

We are in another low mana battle (and still in Bronze league, season is not that old!) and in Wild format.

Prior to writing this article I got a faint idea where I would see the Angelic Mandarin. -Given it has ranged attack its best position is probably in the back.

As usual I got hit hard in the first round and kudos especially to my 0 point units!

By now my units were able to deal some damage, too and I was able to attack the opponent's main damage dealer.

So in a fight that took longer than necessary it should now be obvious who won the duel of Deeplurkers.

My faint idea in the beginning was to utilize the Angelic Mandarin as some kind of backline tank while dealing some damage, too. "Unfortunately" it was not necessary in this fight at all. If the enemy would have used monsters with stealth ability it could have been completely different, though.
This point is probably the best usecase I can think of for the Angelic Mandarin. As with other units this is a very limited usecase. So perhaps you can find a better use for this unit and encourage you to share it with me in the comments! And even if not, remember the aforementioned vice of this unit: It is cheap!! ;)

If you read to the bitter end and give me even more attention, you are very welcome! :D
