Welcome to a new week with a new challenge of sharing one of my battles in Splinterlands. In my opinion the Splinterverse finds itself in some kind of depression currently. Prices are really low with cheap summoners selling just above two quarters of an USD.
Personally I don't know if this is just a transitory state or the beginning of the end.
But again, let us not think on tomorrow but head straight into one of my battles!

This week's given ruleset is called "Going the Distance" which already implies some kind of focus on ranged units and accordingly the fineprint reads: "Only units with ranged attacks may be used.
Consider including units with the Close Range and Return Fire abilities in your lineup."
So it is ranged attack units only.

Let's have a look at one of my battles including "Going the Distance" ruleset:

This is another one of those fights where you have the option to learn from my mistakes! ;)
I was to focused on playing Obsidian which is my highest-leveled summoner. However my enemy chose (in my opinion) one of the best units for "Going the Distance". The epic reward card "Lava Launcher" is allowed to fire from front line and has both high def as well as high health.

So round 1 it is. My Gargoya Devil already got hit hard, while enemy's Lava Launcher stood tall...

...until my bitter end.

So what is the conclusion or my recommendation for this ruleset and looking at the battle above? - A) Choose a unit with "Close Range" ability for front row! B) Choose a unit with both a high health as well as a high shield stat. (C) Choose an appropiate Summoner! Obsidian was not my best choice.)
I really hope for a magnificient future of Splinterlands!
