Yes, dear readers! We are in for another week of battle mage secrets and shared battles in the Splinterverse! This week it is about a ruleset affecting Ranged attacks in particular!

So it is called "Fire & Regret". Whose fineprint reads: "All units receive the Return Fire ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that attack with ranged attacks receive damage back.
Damage returned is equal to damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up.
Ranged attack units with the Reflection Shield ability do not take damage from reflected magic attacks.
The Amplify ability increases damage."
So you might have already guessed: It is best to avoid using Ranged attack units!

Let's dive deep into one of my battles:

What about the setup? -Neither my opponent nor me completely passed on ranged attack units (although they are highly affected by the ruleset). But I only chose one with especially strong health in order to serve more like a tank than a ranged damage dealer.

Round already saw some losses which were mainly caused by "Fire & Regret" rulesets that retaliates damage back to its source.

In this screenshot you really see how the "Fire & Regret" ruleset works: My Silvershield Sheriff managed to take down the enemy's Spinner unit, but took some decent damage on its own.

The rest of the battle was rather uninspiring and you can guess who won by looking at the screenshot.

So what is in here for the reader of this exercise? -When facing a ruleset that is discrimating a special kind of attack, you will do best by avoiding it! ;) Rather obvious, eh?!
However sometimes you cannot or will not be able to completely avoid the units which are negatively affected by rulesets. Still you will be able to win! See the battle above! :D
