Salsal Military Fortress, which has an extraordinary birds-eye view, stands on top of a cliff that is 40 by 50 meters and no one knows its exact history, but it seems to have been built 400-500 years ago. Salsal literally means cool and pleasant water, which has been one of the interesting aspects of this castle, considering its location.

The height of the castle is about 100 meters above sea level and the natives of this area believe that its builder was a person named Salsal who once ruled in this area.

Salsal Castle, which is a pile of red stones stacked on top of an intact staircase that is still very much strong. This is a mesmerizing building on a hilltop, though like other archeological sites and cultural attractions and the legacy of the past in the land of Iran is not taken care of by anyone, yet it is still fascinating, mysterious, and enjoyable to visit.

Salsal Castle in the city of Lisar in the province of Gilan, Iran, is one of the hangouts of our cycling group, which we visit every once in a while, but I had not come here in the summer, not realizing in the summertime, the landscape seems magical and exceptionally green.

And most importantly, the surrounding scenery in summer is the most attractive. The greener trees, the farmland, each of which looks like a green square on a paper sheet which all of them are neatly arranged next to each other in a nice order.

The whole perspective is incredibly colorful and outstanding, and the houses with their orange roofs make the landscape even more charming. Let alone the glorious sea that has risen on the horizon and the sky that rules over it.

Every corner of this mysterious nature has a different trick up its sleeve.

Spells that are sometimes pleasant and sometimes dangerous and alarming,

let alone that in the end, what it is, with all its instabilities, when it is looked at properly, it takes precedence over anywhere else.
