My Challenging Journey ep 4 - Time of Choices.

"Coinomi and Binance together or Atomic Wallet. I'll do my choice before my next post".

So this is what I wrote at my second post, where I listed my simple needs: a mobile app, easy to use, able to hold little amounts of different cryptos and tokens, where I can change one coin in another.

But, which coins or tokens?
Well, now there is no obvious way in Lebanon to earn or spend cryptos. Certainly I'll investigate this in my future posts, but now I really don't need to know which coin is most useful here or which one I'll prefer. Rather, it's time to choose a comfortable tool that allows me to use the coins I am collecting little by little on this site and the one I already own, which is at the moment bitcoin cash. It means I need to manage BCH, LRC, DAI and BAT. For now.

They are the coins that will allow me to have the experience needed by using them in every way and, above all, will allow me to get my future other coins.

After having said that, let me tell you what I have done and decided.

Coinomi

COINOMI

A wallet.
I had already installed Coinomi when I received a little gift of bitcoin cash. I needed to see if I could use it to withdraw the 3 tokens given by publish0x (LRC, DAI, BAT).

The answer is yes, but for adding them you have to follow different ways. This is how:

DAI - It's easy, you can add it directly choosing among ethereum tokens on the list.

BAT - I don't know why, it's not among the ethereum tokens but you can add it searching manually for "BAT". As soon as you do you will notice the icon is not the official one. I admit, this gives a feeling of precariousness I really don't like.

LRC - This is a little bit complicated, because to add it you have to do manually. Not hard at all, you have to search for the 3 data Coinomi needs in https://etherscan.io/tokens (in particular Contract Address, Symbol and Decimals).
I did, but here, again, I had an even bigger feeling of precariousness.

The consequence has been to try Atomic Wallet.

Atomic Wallet

ATOMIC WALLET

A wallet that can be also used to change one coin in another.
I installed this wallet using the link suggested by publish0x in my personal dashboard.
For doing this they promised me 10+5 AWC tokens, so it should become my fifth coin.
Anyway, the wallet is very easy to install and after having written down the 12 words on a paper I didn't need to do anything more, all the coins already there, all the tokens I wanted already available. The only thing I did has been to hide all the coins and to allow only the ones I own to be shown. That's all.

Then I wanted to test, so I sent some cents of BCH (the first time I moved cryptos) and I withdrew DAI from publish0x (another first time). I loved it.

At last I checked how to change coins. I discovered there are minimum amounts for using this tool so I was not able to go on. Anyway it seems very easy and this is what I liked to know.

CONCLUSIONS

Before installing Atomic Wallet I was considering to sign up on Binance and to give a look to an exchange a user (Sugarfix) suggested to me, Kucoin. But after having installed, tried and liked it I feel I really don't need an exchange anymore. At least not now.

Moreover, I think Atomic Wallet has already become my primary wallet. Time will say.

I'm happy to feel I have what I need, now I can think of my following steps: how to use cryptos in Lebanon.
