Some moments we need some rest, yes, a pause, deep and restorative. Even healing. For that we need to realize how we feel, beyond physical fatigue.
Physical fatigue tells us that we have to stop but sometimes we don't, we keep going, sleeping little, running from here to there, accumulating hours of sleep and wanting to stop. But we continue, sometimes until we can't take it anymore, until the body begins to give us signals that it is now time to put everything aside for a moment. It warns us in time, because stress can last and affect us, how many ailments can appear derived from so much exhaustion!
And mental fatigue? Sometimes the mind at a hundred revolutions constantly requires more energy than the body running without stopping. The mind is powerful, and it ends up causing us physical sensations and symptoms as well, or it can prevent us from sleeping well. Other times we think that we have everything under control, that it is not a big deal, but after a great accumulation of worries and problems to think about and to solve, we end up strangely exhausted. We can't even with our soul.
In addition, a little of everything can be put together, mental stress, and too much movement and activity, and we stay like this for days, weeks and maybe longer... It is difficult to give great solutions and less so in an abstract way in a personal and general post at the same time, but yes, we have to stop and rest.
If we don't rest of our own free will, we may have to do it out of obligation, and it will be worse. You have to dose yourself or at least know how to stop, know how to find our little moment to disconnect from everything, to sit without doing anything, without thinking about anything... we may fall asleep.
That's fine, let's catch up on sleep, let our body and brain rest until they tell us, without feeling guilty about getting up late one day, what's up? We retired to the pits to fine-tune the machine, because we have to take care of our machine, because we want it to perform, or to be strong to enter the battle again, to face everything that comes, and get out of all that.
There are crazy days, when it seems impossible to us until we have five minutes for ourselves, or maybe we can have them but we don't stop thinking, we can't! That is where we have to learn to stop, to put everything aside, to take a deep breath, to know how to separate one thing from the other, and to give ourselves what we need... realizing that a brief pause can be the best now, and we'll appreciate it in worse times.
It seems difficult to do it with so many things to handle, right? but to do all of them well, we have to be in good condition. Sometimes it will be necessary to make an extra effort due to time and agenda issues, but this practice cannot be sustained for a long time, let's not force the machine, because we are not machines but human, and sometimes we need to rest.
