Hey there! I've kept trying new projects to mine (just as a learning experience, not expecting to make any profit).

The project I've settled around is Nano. This project kept my eye as every coin was distributed via faucets until 2017 but is still alive in 2024. As all the coins have been distributed all transactions are free and almos instant.

How do you obtain nano?

As every coin have been distributed, theres no direct mining nor staking on this network. But nanswap created an XMR pool that exchanges your earnings to nano. XMR mining was difficult for me as there was a difficult network hashrate for me to step in, so this alternative makes it possible. Doing this makes for better descentralization in the monero network while earning me some XNO.

My experience

Firstly, setting the wallet is very easy. I've used https://nault.cc/, an online wallet that has a very easy to understand interface.

For the mining node, I've been using xmrig on CPU. The configuration is very easy as you have all the information needed inside the mining pool.

The transactions between the pool and the wallet are almost instant and are easy to check.

Finally, Binance has it listed, so its easy to exchange for other crypto coins.

I've earned around 5 cents in a week (I know it's not much but I'm mining with a Raspberry as a learning project) and I'll trade them for BNB to use it in the launchpool projects.
