The Venari Institute of Application is the house of spells an tinkering, where Venari Spellsmiths are enhancing the spell powers an elemental synergy.
The Rare Neutral monster magical skills are so advance that the magic is part of them. A Venari Spellsmith can manipulate the magic to make damage, dispel and deal extra damage when dying.
The 4 mana cost may look high, for only 2 Health Points and 1 Magical damage. However, the Dispel ability makes it special, as every hit will dispel all the positive buffs from the enemies. It becomes a powerful asset when upgraded, gaining Amplify at level 4 and Redemption at level 8.
If it is a battle that involves magic, then my choice of summoner will be Obsidian. The last remaining Earth Mage can boost the casters power, using obsidian as a training threat. The thirst for power made her destroy the Stonebluff village, and soon become one of Silus close advisors.
If it's magic... it's Obsidian! If it's Earth ... it's Obsidian! I have a rented golden level 2 for my battles, and I usually use the Earth Splinter when I want to progress quickly through the ranks
Wooden Arrows against Obsidian Bolts! Fog of War battle-rule nullified the Sneak and Snipe abilities, while the 26 mana cap provided a good range of choices.

Even before seeing the battle rules, I decided to play a full magical team. The absence of snipe and sneak reduced the chance to hit my back line, and the Mycelic tank was the best option for the battle.
The opponent went for a Taunt tanks as well, ranged damage and healing. The heal was pointless in the first round, as both the Shieldbearer and the Slipspawn didn't made it into the second round.
Was carnage on the battle field, with magic arrows buzzing through the air. The Venari Spellsmith couldn't dodge the arbalest but the Goblin Psychic made the battle easy. He single handled the remaining monsters and was game over in three rounds.
Conclusion! The Venari Spellsmith is a card that can be easily integrated in many battle tactics, but specially in the one with low or medium mana pools. Obsidian can make the casters overpowered, and the strength will be given by the number of monsters in the team
