The Lava Spider replaced the the Fire Beatle when the Chaos Legion invasion started. We don't know exactly if the Lava Spider eat the Beatle ... or if the Beatle was the spider in disguise as they have the same stats!
The folklore says that the explorers who ventured deep within the volcanoes meet giant spiders that weave threads of fire, trapping the pray in webs of flame. When the Chaos Legion invasion started, the lava spiders were adopted in the army. The bargain brings free meals for the Lava Spiders and a defensive line for the Chaos Legion.
The Chaos Legion Common card is part of the Fire Splinter. It costs only 3 Mana and comes with 4 Health, 3 Speed, 1 Ranged Attack and the Snipe ability. The Lava Spider gains Snare at level 6 and Poison at level 10.
Scorch the Life with Lava! This battle had 22 mana cap and Divine Shield battlerules. My team selection was based on quick monsters with damage all over the place to take down the divine shield of my opponents

The opponent choose Life Splinter, extra health from the summoner and a lot of armor. Boosting the Armor didn't worked well for him as the Truthspeaker was down at the start of Round 2. His Gargoya Scrapper has the next victim, and the battle was heading in the right direction.
The Blinding Reflector is the first enemy monster that will bring some challenge, with the Shield ability and armor. However, the challenge was imaginary ... as my fire team obtained a flawless victory! See the full battle here!
Was the Lava Spider useful? Yes! Was the Lava Spider contribution extraordinary? Not really but it showed that the card can bring the tides in my favor in complex battles with useful hits behind the tank.
