It's factually wrong to say I basically gave my $RIVER a 2-year vacation because right now they are growing at 24x but will reach maturity in a long long time
Why I’m Staking $RIVER and grinded River4FUN for few months? Mostly by momentum and a hope that 2 years from now they will still have some value!
I’ve been spending a fair amount of time in the River ecosystem, and one thing I like is that there are multiple ways to build your position!
Instead of simply buying $RIVER and hoping number go up I decided to go pretty degen with my own staking position and went for the 24× multiplier
The downside? My tokens are locked until summer 2028. I basically looked at the lock-up period and said that “Future PVM can deal with that.”
But there’s a reason I went for it. $RIVER staking combines rewards with governance. Your staking duration affects your multiplier and voting power!
You can also earn River Points throughout the staking epoch. The longer you commit, the higher the potential multiplier and the more weight your position can have within the ecosystem.
Then there’s River4FUN which is where things get a little more fun. Season 6 ended and not sure if another one will ever follow... but was a good journey!
I created content, participated in campaigns and contributed to the River ecosystem while earning River Points from both social and onchain activity.
So I’m basically playing both sides. My $RIVER is locked away until 2028 earning through the staking system, while I’m still active on River4FUN!
I actually like this model because it gives people different ways to participate. You can commit capital through staking, contribute through River4FUN, or combine both.
The 24× multiplier comes with a very serious lock-up. There’s no panic-selling your position when the market decides to have one of those “everything is going to zero” weeks.
Summer 2028 PVM is going to have some explaining to do... but at least I upgraded the $RIVER stash! Got my reward from S5 and done the same thing!
This time I got more points because I had a staked batch and went for a smaller lock just to make both match the unlock!
Two years from now will unlock at least 11 $RIVER, plus any potential rewards from S6! Knowing me... will probably forget about it!
