STEEM SOUTH AFRICA - CALL TO ACTION! - MEMBER SCOUTING & DELEGATION APPEAL

Some days are just that fast forward kind of productive and others are a lot more passive productive. Today was unquestionably the latter haha! My little man was off ill, so I knew from the get go that I was not going to be able to focus on anything which required heavy concentration, but that does not mean I did not spend the productively. In fact, I am actually glad the day unfolded the way it did because it was the perfect opportunity to get stuck into my latest venture, which for those of you that missed the announcement post - is the launch of @steemsouthafrica!

The very first thing I did after discovering that I had been selected to head the South African facet of @pennsif's Steem Outreach Initiative was to give @steemsouthafrica a social media presence - that being a brand identity, Steem account, a discord server and Twitter account. With those all done, the next step was to start getting in touch with other active South African Steemians. This went off pretty seamlessly too and several of those individuals have now hopped on to our new server.

STEEM SOUTH AFRICA SCOUTING:

The task I took on today however, was a little more tedious lol and is essentially a rather long shot because a good percentage of these people have not posted here in anything from 2 months to 2 years. I sat down this morning and started scouring Steem for old posts from people that have made use of the tag "southafrica" in the last 2 years - yeah it was definitely not as fun as creating the branding and server lol, but I do think it was something that needed to be done - even if it is only mildly successful. I also want to say a quick thank you to @joanstewart for supplying me with an old list of SA Steemians from 2017 which has been added to what I gathered today.

At this stage there really is only a HANDFUL of truly active South African Steemians, so before I even LOOK at organising meetups and attempting to on-board, I want to make sure that I have combed the beach thoroughly in terms of who is already still here and possibly lurking in the shadows.

SOUTH AFRICANS PLEASE GET INVOLVED:

Ok, enough waffle! The intention of this post is to A) tag (and hopefully connect with) those people but over and above that to ask for your assistance. If you are South African and reading this - YOU CAN HELP! Please take a look at the list of tagged individuals and if you have ANY way of contacting certain individuals outside of the Steem realm (ie. direct contact, twitter, instagram, fb etc.), then PLEASE DO! We are going to have to work together on this one. I will place the tag list at the end of this post - but we are sitting at 236 South Africans on that list, sadly most of which have left... so it would be fantastic to reignite their passion for this place and bring them into a NEW space which is geared and enthusiastic to make a success of their Steem future.

This really is SUCH an exciting new Steem phase for the people of South Africa and I truly hope that all of you will get as actively involved as you can to rally up the troops! Once we have that waxed, we can start looking at active promotions across the country and even more exciting... the meetups! Exciting times ahead, #steemsa!
