GTA VI Leaks Made $350,000 in Crypto — But Not From Selling the Memecoin

By MakeItReal | MakeItReal | 2 hours ago

What if leaking one of the most anticipated video games in the world could be turned into a crypto business?

That appears to be what happened with the mysterious account behind the recent GTA VI leaks.

And the most interesting part isn't necessarily the memecoin itself.

According to reports, the wallet ecosystem connected to CYBERLEEK may have generated around $350,000 in trading fees — without needing a classic rug pull.

Yes, the token crashed roughly 90% from its August 25 peak.

But apparently, the biggest money-making mechanism was happening somewhere else.

The GTA VI → Memecoin Connection

The story starts on August 15, when CYBERLEEK was launched on Solana.

At first, it looked like another anonymous memecoin destined to disappear into the endless sea of speculative tokens.

Then something changed.

The account associated with CYBERLEEK began releasing exclusive-looking footage related to GTA VI, including scenes involving driving, combat and interactions with NPCs.

Suddenly, the token had something every memecoin desperately needs:

attention.

And GTA VI has an almost unlimited supply of it.

The game is arguably one of the most anticipated entertainment releases of the decade. So connecting an unknown token to GTA VI created exactly the kind of speculation that memecoin traders love.

Price exploded.

Trading activity exploded.

And that's where the real story begins.

The $350,000 Trick Wasn't a Rug Pull

When people hear about an anonymous memecoin connected to a viral event, the first assumption is usually obvious:

"Someone dumped their tokens."

But according to the analysis surrounding CYBERLEEK, that's not necessarily what happened.

The more interesting mechanism involved liquidity.

By providing liquidity, the wallets associated with the project could potentially earn a percentage of the trading activity generated by the token.

Think about it this way.

Thousands of traders buy and sell the same speculative asset.

Every transaction generates fees.

Instead of simply waiting for the token price to rise and then dumping a massive allocation, the liquidity provider can potentially monetize the activity itself.

And when the subject generating that activity is GTA VI?

The volume can become enormous.

That is reportedly how the CYBERLEEK ecosystem generated approximately $350,000 in fees.

Not necessarily by selling millions of dollars worth of tokens.

But by becoming the infrastructure through which the speculation happened.

And Then CYBERLEEK Collapsed

Of course, there is an important catch.

CYBERLEEK didn't remain at its peak.

After reaching its all-time high on August 25, the token subsequently lost around 90% of its value.

This is classic memecoin territory: massive attention, explosive volatility and an extremely short speculative cycle.

But the collapse actually makes the fee story even more interesting.

The token price can crash.

The traders can lose money.

The hype can disappear.

Yet the fees generated while the market was extremely active have already been collected.

That's a completely different way of looking at memecoin economics.

Who Is Behind CYBERLEEK?

This is where things become much more mysterious.

The identity of the person or group controlling the wallets associated with CYBERLEEK remains unknown.

There is also no definitive public confirmation that the Cyberleek alias belongs to a specific individual.

Rockstar officially acknowledged the GTA VI leaks on August 26 and subsequently pursued legal action seeking identifying information from platforms including Microsoft and Discord.

So, at least for now, the connection between the leaker and the crypto wallets remains a fascinating — and still unresolved — part of the story.

The Bigger Crypto Lesson

For me, this is the most interesting part.

CYBERLEEK demonstrates how attention itself can become a financial asset.

In traditional markets, companies spend enormous amounts of money trying to acquire attention.

In crypto, a viral event can sometimes create a market almost instantly.

GTA VI leaks generated attention.

Attention generated traders.

Traders generated volume.

And volume generated fees.

That's a remarkably efficient crypto-native business model.

It also shows why memecoins shouldn't always be analyzed exclusively by looking at their price charts.

Sometimes the more important question isn't:

"How high did the token go?"

It's:

"Who was making money while everyone else was trading it?"

And in the CYBERLEEK story, that may be the real plot twist. 🎮💰
