I have been thinking what is the best thing i ever learnt about this condition. I guess it all started with realisation of what anxiety is and why.

Our brains have 2 thought patterns so lets call one john and one mary. John rushes into things with sudden actions and in a way thats like our brain during a start of anxiety attacks. Now mary on the other hand goes the long way round and arrives at logical decisions.

So the question is how to not use john so much and encourage marys thoughts.

So what i do now is try to calm john and listen to mary.

Lets say i have to go out. I turn my negative thoughts into positive ones. So i say after i have been out ill return for a bath. While im out ill buy a cake as a treat. Etc .

I know this is hard and i also want to say use mindfulness by being aware of what you feel at your feet what you can see hear smell. You can also realise that the past has gone even a second ago. Try and stay in the now.once learnt its a useful tool in your brain.
