ZEBEDEE, a mobile payment company looking to expand beyond gaming, has partnered with podcast platform Fountain to allow listeners and podcasters to earn Bitcoin.
The "listen-to-earn" model, launched by Fountain in June 2022, rewards listeners for the value they provide by allowing them to earn money for the first hour of daily podcast listening.
The platform uses RSS feeds to make podcasts from other platforms available to listeners and rewards them with small amounts of Bitcoin called satoshis. When the user is ready to cash out, they can connect to the ZEBEDEE app.
The listen-to-earn model aims to spend money only on listeners who actually want to listen, creating a direct link between podcasters and their audience.
