Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a battle using a specific card and on this week's post it is the Pelacor Arbalest card. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Featured Monster: Pelacor Arbalest

Pelacor Arbalest is a life splinter card that costs 6 mana. It starts with the double strike ability and learns flying at level 5. It doesn't have much health but it deals a lot of damage when it can live long enough and hit the target.

I don't use this card very often due to the low health. A single shot from an opportunity monster can easily kill off this card so it is too risky. However, it can be very powerful when combined with General Sloan. I don't have that summoner leveled up enough though.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is healed out and target practice. This means that healing abilities don't work and all ranged/magic monsters get the snipe ability. There is also 46 mana available and I am left with the choice of earth, life, and dragon splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Mother Khala. In a match like this, I think having more health will help me more and I can play all my cards to the highest level that I have because this is my highest level life summoner.

My plan is to have Chain Golem tank the physical monsters and have Pelacor Conjurer tank the magic hits (due to the target practice ruleset). Darius is there to resurrect one of these monsters if they do die to allow my cards to live longer. The rest of my lineup is just more damage.

Round 1

At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think I have this match won. Pelacor Conjurer will do massive damage against my opponent and Darius will make it live long enough to help out. The extra -1 health from Darius will also help to kill off a few monsters just from the reflect alone.

Round 2

I lost Pelacor Conjurer but I wiped out all but 1 magic monster on my opponent. It's rare to see 4 monsters die in 1 round but it is definitely amazing to see. With so many of my cards left, I don't think there is any chance for me to lose this match.

A round later, I was able to finish off my opponent without any trouble.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. Magic damage is the hardest to deal with so I left Pelacor Conjurer in my snipe spot and it did it's work as it wiped out a lot of magic monsters. Darius resurrected Pelacor Conjurer and it also took out the tank heal monster. Pelacor Arbalest did do its job as it landed quite a few hits and helped me speed up the killing of the magic monsters.

The +1 Health from Mother Khala and Djinn Renova helped increase the survivability of my monsters and I think it definitely helped my Conjurer take all the magic damage in the 1st round. Combined with the reflect it could do, I was able to wipe out most of my opponent's lineup in the first round and it lead to an overwhelming win for my side. My opponent's lineup would be dangerous normally but I was able to negate that with magic reflect.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
