Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a battle using a specific card and on this week's post it is the Goblin Psychic card. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Featured Monster: Goblin Psychic

Goblin Psychic is a earth splinter card that costs 6 mana. It stats off with tank heal, learns affliction at level 4, silence at level 7 and dispel when maxed out. As a support card, this is an amazing card as it heals the tank and debuffs the opponent. The stats it has isn't exactly that strong and it's fairly slow but the abilities definitely make up for it.

As a card, I use it from time to time. I find this card as a good healer when I am playing around with earth splinter cards. My current Goblin Psychic is only level 3 because I was able to get a gold foil version of this from opening some chaos legion packs. I really like the fact that it has a bonus 2 health because making it live longer is going to help me quite a bit during my matches. It seems to go quite well with a few different cards so it really adds to the strategy I can play.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The rule set this time is even stevens. As we are only allowed to use even splinter cards (outside the summoner), it halves the number of cards I can use. Outside of this, there isn't really any restrictions on what you can do. There is 44 mana available and you can use earth, death or dragon splinters for this match.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Byzantine Kitty. As we have a decent amount of mana available, I feel that the extra speed and tank heal will be a great addition to my own line up. All of this adds up to be quite powerful when combined with the right cards.

My plan would be have quite a few tanky cards up in front. With Goblin Psychic as an extra healer. My choice of a tank is Unicorn Mustang with the void magic ability and add in Queen Mycelia for extra armor. This will allow my line up to last through a few extra hits and I can fix up the rest of the line up with some decent health attackers. I know that Kron is a choice I want to keep in as both self heal and tank heal work well together.

Round 1

At first glance, I think my line up will do quite well because he has no opportunity or sneak monsters. This mean that they will be focused directly on my tank Unicorn Mustang. I don't have any ranged monsters so his summoner doesn't really hurt me much either.

Round 2

round 2.png

I am not doing much damage on Harklaw with my melee monsters but the mages are dealing enough damage. From what I can see, I can make up for most of the damage I receive and my damage should go up after Harklaw dies.

Round 3

round 3.png

My sneak monster will die but there is not much I can do about it. However I am still at full health on my Unicorn Mustang so I doubt my Unicorn Mustang will die.

Round 4

round 4.png

I have taken out the first two monsters on my opponent's side already and this match looks like I have already won. With only 2 damage per round on my Unicorn Mustang per round, my tank heal will fully heal it up. Even if that thorns monster at the end starts attacking, I have the tank heal from my summoner and my goblin psychic to heal it. So it will heal all 6 damage my Unicorn Mustang will take. Thus I will fast forward to the end of the match.

conclusion.png

As I expected, I was able to finish off my opponent without any issues. The only thing I didn't realize was his enrage ability. However I have true strike so the most I could of lost was a few cards. Two tank heals plus self heal on Kron would of definitely survived if it came down to it.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went as I expected. Some people may wonder why I decided to have goblin psychic even though my summoner has tank heal and this is because they both tank into effect at different times. So this means that my tank will be healed twice per round if my goblin psychic stays alive. The summoner tank heal takes place at the start of a round and the goblin psychic's tank heal will take place in the middle of a round. So I feel that the healing was spaced out evenly.

I might of been in some danger if I had used more melee or ranged cards. While magic might not of been the best to match with the true strike, I like how the support abilities synergize with each other. My opponent had a decent line up and it would of worked amazing against a physical line up. That thorns monster at the end with enrage would of demolished most of my team and any sneak monsters you have would of been killed off quite early. So I don't feel that my opponent's team is bad but he was not expecting me to have so much heals. It might of been a different issue if my opponent had sneak monsters but that is why I had Queen Mycelia with the armor buff.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would of done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
