Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a battle using a specific card and on this week's post it is the Chaos Knight card. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.
Featured Monster: Chaos Knight

Chaos Knight is a light splinter card that cost 6 mana. It starts off with the shield ability and learns the giant killer ability at level 5. When it reaches level 9, it also learns the inspire ability. So the abilities themselves doesn't seem so bad. However the low heath doesn't look very good. The bonus armor he has does look nice though.
As a card, I don't use it very often. As of currently, my Chaos Knight is only level 1 but the low health is the reason why I don't use it much. It just seems like Chain Golem is better because it only cost 2 mana more compared to it. If I didn't have Chain Golem then I might use it more often.
Rule set, Battle and Plan

The rule set this time is target practice and even stevens. This means that all magic/ranged monsters have the snipe ability and only even mana cost monsters can be used. There is 32 mana available and we can use all splinters except for water and death. I don't see this combination of rule sets often so it's hard to think about a proper set up right away.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Daria Dragonscale. The extra melee attack makes it a good fight with Chaos Knight and Daria is one of the highest level summoners I have. On top of this, the dragon summoner allows me to mix in some dragon cards.
My plan would be to have a good snipe tank. If I am using dragon, I think the Diamond Dragon is one of the best cards I can use. It has low health but it has 10 armor, flying and slow ability. So this will help me attack faster compared to my opponent. The only downside is if my opponent has a magic build because my armor would be useless. In front, I will use Chaos knight followed by Manticore as my reach monster and a Venari Crystalsmith as a healer. With this, I only have a few mana available left so I fill in the spots with the chicken and the parasitic growth.
Round 1

At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think I have a good chance. There is only 1 magic monster and the only burden stopping me is the his tank Shieldbearer. The rest of the cards don't have much health and the attacks should attack Diamond Dragon for the most part.
Round 2

My chicken is dead but my flying dragon is still alive. I did a lot of damage to his Shieldbearer already so it shouldn't be too long before I can deal damage to the rest of my opponent's team. Both of our teams are slow so neither side really has an advantage on that end and the result of the match is still unknown.
Round 3

I have lost my diamond dragon but once that front-line tank went down, I was able to quickly take out his monsters. Last round, I was able to take out 4 cards because I took out his time mage and removed the slow before my diamond dragon died. With this, I think the match is over and I see no way for my opponent to win this match unless I miss often. However that does not seem likely given the current line up.

As I expected, I was able to finish off my opponent without any issues. I did lost my Venari Crystalsmith but it didn't really do much this match.
Conclusion
The battle this time around also did not go as I expected. I was expecting my Chaos Knight to be attacked more often due to a more melee oriented approach. So my Venari Crystalsmith was useless during the match and a heal on my Chaos Knight was never requried. My Diamond Dragon did a great job and tanked most of the ranged attacks. This allowed me to take out his Shield Bearer and take out my opponent's line up.
Daria was quite useful this match and not having a cap on the level of cards that I can use definitely helped. On my opponent's side, I see that his focus was to wipe out as many cards as he could from my backline using General Sloan. He was not expecting my Diamond Dragon to be there because 10 armor is hard to get past. I think his line up is definitely formidable but I think having a healer like Venari Crystalsmith might of been useful for my opponent. By allowing his tank to live longer, I think it would also allow his backline to do more damage.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would of done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
