Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Reverse Speed rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Reverse SpeedRise of the Commons, and Keep Your Distance. This means that lower speed cards move first and have higher accuracy, only common or rare cards can be used, and no melee monsters can be used. There is also 42 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, earth, or death splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Thaddius Brood. In a match like this, I think that removing -1 health and magic will be useful. It will make killing my opponent easier and reduce my damage.

My plan is just to just survive long enough for my cards to deal enough damage. I didn't have many options but I tried to use what I could for my low speed cards and I went with what I could. I have Riftwing up front to tank some attacks and hopefully, the backfire can trigger some extra damage. Then I have the rest of my monsters with a focus on ranged monsters to avoid magic reflect ability.

Round 1

At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think I have the stronger lineup because my opponent didn't have many cards and he doesn't have the magic reflect card. My opponent was also limited in his options and a few hits will be all I require to deal kill off a few cards. My opponent can't attack anything outside of Riftwing expect for 1 of my opponent's card. Also, my opponent was dumb enough to use a summoner that slows my cards and that will only help me.

Round 2

round 2.png
I managed to kill off two cards and my Riftwing didn't take much damage at all. At this point, there is no chance that I can lose this match because of my true strike monster in the back.

As I expected, I won because I was able to focus on damage and win the match.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. The lineup I went for was able to live long enough to deal damage. My opponent didn't have many cards so I feel that he was also limited in his cards and I think my opponent made a bad choice with his summoner. It doesn't make sense to use a summoner with slow when we have a reverse speed ruleset. I wasn't expecting to do so well because my cards weren't that slow but it worked out against my opponent. I used one of my brawl fights from the most recent session and I thought it was quite interesting.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.
