Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Lost Legendaries rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Lost Legendaries and Keep Your Distance. This means that melee monsters and legendary monsters can't be used. There is also 46 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, earth, life, or death splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is Immortalis. In a match like this, I think that the void ability and -1 health will be very useful in this match where only ranged and magic monsters can be used.

My plan is just to have a lineup failed summoner up front with reflect in the first spot. I also have a taunt monster in the last spot to allow the rest of my lineup to do damage. I have Regal as my fastest monster to trigger shatter before my ranged monster deals massive damage.

Round 1

At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think I have the stronger lineup because my void ability will decrease the damage for most of my enemies damage. While it doesn't completely remove damage, I will have time to finish off my opponent's monsters.

Round 2

round 2.png
I was able to kill off three cards on my opponents side while not losing any of mine. With the speed difference, I should be fine against my opponent. I was lucky that the scattershot enemy targeted my failed summoner and killed itself from the reflect.

I wasn't expecting to win this round but it did happen. I didn't miss any attacks and I finished off my opponent with all the damage. I did lose my Failed Summoner but it did it's job in this match.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. The lineup I went for kept my opponent busy with Failed Summoner and taunt. The void ability from Immortalis worked out quite well as it decreased the damage from my opponent. With the focus on those two cards, I was able to focus all my damage on my opponent. The shatter wasn't that useful but it was there as an option just incase. My focus on high damaging cards worked out quite well and my opponent lost half of his cards in the first turn. Then the 2nd round finished off everything else.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.
