Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Little League rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.
Rule set, Battle and Plan
The ruleset this time is Briar Patch, Counterspell, and Little League. This means that only monsters with a mana cost of 4 or less can be used. All monster also gain the thorns and magic reflect ability. So it will be a good idea to use ranged damage as the rest will be countered. There is also 24 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, water, death, or dragon splinter.

The summoner I chose to use this time is Quix the Devious. I use it for the level cap and also because it reduces my enemies ranged attack and speed by 1.

I plan to use Ahna-Chei Botanist as my first tank for the return fire and blind ability. This means that my first monster will counter all damage types. Then I have Riftwing as a backup tank because of backfire, flying and scavenger to support my team. After that is Chaos Animator for void and amplify. Following that my ranged monsters. I have them to increase damage but one of them does have protect to make my monsters live longer and my last monster has flying for those sneak monsters.
Round 1

At first glance, I think that I have an advantage. My opponent has a lot of magic monsters and with the damage amplified from the counter damage, I should be able to deal a decent amount of damage. My ranged monsters also won't suffer any penalties.
Round 2

Both me and my opponent lost one monster but my opponent has suffered a decent amount of damage to his backline. So I don't think there should be any issues because two of the magic monsters will die next round due to the magic reflect.
Round 3

My opponent lost two magic monsters and I still have quite left on my lineup. Also, I have the speed advantage so I think this match is my win.

Later that round, I won the match as I expected.
Conclusion
The battle went as I expected. I amplified the counter damage and it helped me take out my opponent's backline. At the same time, I focused my damage dealers on ranged monsters and it worked out for me. I am also glad that my tanks were able to last long enough for the counter damage to finish off those monsters.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.
