Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Heavy Hitters rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.
Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Even Stevens and Heavy Hitters. This means that only even mana monsters and all cards get the knock out ability. There is also 17 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, water, life, ordeath splinter.

The summoner I choose to use this time is General Sloan. In a match like this, I think that having +1 ranged damage will be more useful and I can use my cards to the highest level.

My plan is just to have a lineup using a thorns and magic reflect cards up front. This ability is boosted by the amplify ability. Then I have a tank heal and filler monster in the last spot.
Round 1

At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, it's going to depend on how fast I can kill off my opponent's tank. If my opponent can kill off the rest of my cards before I can finish that Void tank, then I will lose this match but if it works the other way around, I should win.
Round 2

I didn't miss during the first round but there isn't much space for me to miss. It will just be my opponent taking out my backline and me trying to damage his tank so I will fast forward the match.
Round 5

I was able to take out the tank monster before my tank healer and main damage dealer died. This means that I won't lose this match because of the thorns ability.

Since I did not miss, I was able to finish off my opponent and win the match.
Conclusion
The battle this time around did not go as I expected. I was hoping to take advantage of the amplify ability from Dax but that never happened. I did win because I didn't miss too many attacks and I was able to kill off my opponent fast enough. I am glad that I used General Sloan because having more ranged damage definitely helped me win this match. If I didn't have that then I don't know if I could have taken out my opponent's tank. My opponent's use of opportunity worked against me and it became a battle of time on who can kill faster. I was lucky enough to have my Venari Wavesmith land it's attacks enough to secure me my win.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.
